HAZMATZ, short for Hazardous Material goes to every length to take the listener on a journey of sonic proportions. Influenced by artists and producers from both the past and present; the group seeks to release their music to the world in a way that represents their identity. Infectious beats, lyrics, and hooks drives the musical vision of the HAZMATZ. The three man team; Misfit, Mr. Ukno Mei, & Iyah Don; attack each track never leaving any doubt in their ability to craft a concept into a vision that can be heard and felt in each bar. Bar for bar, the three take turns displaying agility and versatility in content and delivery on every track.

On songs such as Hirohsima, the group brings a distinct intensity and a take no prisoners approach; that captures the cataclysmic nature of the event for which the track is titled. Vocals on the track were provided by the group’s resident vocalist; Mr. Ukno Mei, who also provides vocals on Lavish Palace another track on the EP. Hiroshsima’s eerily powerful energy emanates from the speakers as soon as it starts. The electric guitar riffs provided by Sean "DZYN" Raynor adds to the edginess of the song. Refusing to be labeled as just another rap group; the trio exhibit lyrical dexterity with songs such as What I Think About You feat. Alicia Moore. This track is an ode to that special woman in a man's life; it offers the listener another of the many layers that the group possesses. On this particular song, the group members trade vivid glimpses into some of the things that can go through the mind of a man in a relationship. These are just two examples that speak to the range that the group harnesses.

Always looking for new ways to speak to their audience and offer an authentic representation of the culture, HAZMATZ are primed to continue on with that agenda with their latest release NOW. The EP was self-produced; by the group’s in-house production team Deep Coal Productions lead by Iyah Don. They enlist their production team to provide the landscape to take you on a journey on songs such as Sunshine and Hypnotic Blue feat. Shari. Then, they set the speakers ablaze with songs like Hold Up and One Time. Just when you thought all of the layers had been revealed; the group goes further to show you that there is still more than what meets the eye. On the track Bad Man, the three man entourage tap into the dancehall roots reggae vibe; with a feature from reggae artist, Revalashun. The group paints a graphic tale of a youth growing up the hard way; who becomes addicted to the street. They do a masterful job detailing what the boy faces in order to earn the title Bad Man. This latest project from HAZMATZ is a sonic neutron bomb designed to motivate movement and to provide a lyrical and conceptual punch that is bound to impact the culture, both far and wide.
